TORONTO, ONT. -- The first major curveball in the OHL Draft season has come from Vaughan Kings forward, Cole Perfetti, who has made a verbal commitment to the University of Michigan starting with the 2020/21 season.
Aside from being a major get for the Wolverines program, Perfetti's pledge is just the latest in what's quickly becoming an impressive collection of names to look at on paper. Beyond the impressive collection of '00 and '01 birthdates the program has lined up, they've already dipped heavily into the '02 pool as Perfetti joins Antonio Stranges and Jacob Truscott as members of the year-of-birth class.
Oh, and don't forget that Michigan is already on the '03 trail, as well, as they've also nabbed a commitment from Compuware 14U forward Dylan Duke.
But let's focus on Perfetti here, as this is a commitment that is not just impressive on paper, it's one that's going to cause quite a few ripples as to how next April's OHL Priority Selection ultimately plays out.
